Junior Roller Derby College Scholarships? YES, PLEASE!

The JRDA's Eight Wheels for Education college scholarship (introduced in 2013) is one of the first junior roller derby scholarships in existence solely for the higher education of a junior roller derby participant. (Get Some Athletics also has a junior roller derby scholarship available).  In its 3rd year, the JRDA's goal is to provide 10 deserving student-athletes the opportunity to use the $1,000 junior roller derby scholarship to assist with some college/university costs.

Application Criteria:
  • Must be a High School Senior
  • Must have skated with a Junior Roller Derby league for 6 months (need contact information to verify)
  • Current GPA: 3.0 (submit high school report card(s) from August - December)
  • At least 20 Community Service Hours (Need written proof and contact information to verify. Dates should fall within the Senior Year between August - May.) Community Service Verification Form
  • Submit a 100 word essay answering the question, "How will the skills I learned in Junior Roller Derby help me be a better student?"
