RDL vs. Sheffield Steel Roller Girls Saturday 13th September

Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Sports Centre, Duns Lane, Leicester LE3 5LX.

Doors open at 11am, first game first whistle approx 11.45pm, second game first whistle approx 2pm

We invite the Sheffield Steel Roller Girls down the M1 to compete against Roller Derby Leicester. Sheffield bring to the game a wealth of experience, having competed in bouts since 2009, and having a close game against Lincoln will be wanting to steal a win. Leicester will want to continue their strong first season and will do what they can to stop Sheffield from taking home the win.

Alongside this match-up, RDL are hosting a special exhibition game featuring teams of skaters from all across the UK competing in “The Legs” game! Team Metal Legs consists of skaters who have returned to derby after having an injury putting them out of participation, and shows the commitment and determination from these skaters to once again take part in the sport that they love, even if it is the sport that may have contributed to the injury. Team Crazy Legs consists of skaters who associate with having mental health issues, and are skating to promote awareness of invisible illnesses.

Team Crazy Legs in conjunction with our Non-Skating Officials team are supporting The Samaritans in this game. Donations to The Samaritans during the game will be gratefully received.
