Phillip retires USRollergirls

USRollergirls.com, long-time haunt for nationwide roller derby news, has been offline for a while now. When I inquired what was up, site operator Mark Phillip wrote to let me know that the site is gone for good.

Read on for Mark’s comments…

“Unfortunately I had to retire USR. I quit my job to start a startup and I just didn’t have the time to handle both at the same time. The goal was definitely to revamp the entire site (it was never built envisioning 100+ leagues), but I just couldn’t keep it going,” said Phillip. “I started the site back in September of 2004 – I was really disappointed to shut it down.”

I’m disappointed, too. USR was a good site with good info. We here at leadjammer will try to carry the torch, and we wish Mark good luck with his new venture. The usrollergirls.com domain name will be transferred to the WFTDA, but it is unknown at this time what it will be used for.
