The opening game of the Women’s British Roller Derby Championships is Halifax Bruising Banditas vs Liverpool Roller Birds in the Tier 3 Regional North division. Currently 69th in Europe, Halifax ended the 2014 season winning 8 out of 11 games, including games in the Humberstruck Tournament and the Great Yorkshire Showdown. Their last game out was an impressive 362-76 win over Middlesbrough Milk Rollers Rising Rollers.
Currently 82nd in Europe, Liverpool only won 1 out of 7 games in 2014 but played a number of higher ranked teams over the year. Their last game was a 354-196 loss to Bristol.

The British Roller Derby Championships is Europe’s largest interleague Women’s and Men’s Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament. 72 women’s leagues from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are divided into four tiers for double header bout days spanning the year, with a playoffs to find who will be British Roller Derby Champions for 2015! For the first time, 14 men’s teams will also participate in the debut men’s British Championships tournament, with three tiers of double header action across the year!
