Chicago Outfit Wraps Up Grand Raggidy, 174-125

FOLLOW:

CHICAGO, IL – The 2012 Chicago Outfit thought their biggest challenge was going to be replacing Sweet Mary Pain (2011 North Central Regionals MVP), Gaygan and Maul E Hatchet.  While the departure of those three Syndicate skaters has been difficult to overcome, the major challenge for the 8th ranked team in the North Central region has been staying healthy.  The Outfit had yet to put out their full roster until Saturday night, September 8th against the visiting Grand Raggidy Roller Girls.  The Outfit started fast, led throughout and posted their 7th victory against North Central opponents with a 174 – 125 over the All Stars from Grand Rapids.

The Outfit erupted early, getting out to a 27 – 0 start before Grand Raggidy jammer Stomper Facein got GRRG on the board with a 5 point jam.  While the Syndicate offense was effective, it was their defense that was more impressive, holding the visiting All-Stars scoreless in nine out of the bout’s first ten jams. With 13 minutes remaining in the first half, the Outfit led 65-5.

Miz D. Molisher started the strongest Grand Raggidy rally of the night with a 20 point jam, the biggest for either team.  The GRRG defense, led by Bette Mangler, Lindsay Blowhan, Freak’ NC, Kelsey Slammer, Trashy TwoLips, Costa Lotta Chaos and Garden Ho, limited the Outfit to six points over the next 12 minutes while Shotgun Shell, Viva La Boom and Lucy Morals took Grand Raggidy on a 60 – 6 run.  With 2 minutes remaining in the first half, the Outfit’s lead was only six points at 71-65.

But Chicago’s Lola Blow, on her way to an 80 point night, put up a 19-0 jam to close the first half and send her team into the locker room with a 90 – 65 lead.

The Outfit steadily increased their lead during the first 10 minutes of the second half. Queefer Sutherland jammed for the first time of the bout at the 17 minute mark and posted a 14-0 jam, and at that point the Chicago defense took over.  Lady K, Helsa Wayton, Smashley Destructo, Suzie Crotchrot, Pain Gwen, Kim Mortal, Hero Shima, Lindiana Jones and Ivanna Schoop limited Grand Raggidy to six points over a ten minute stretch.   With four minutes remaining in the bout, the Outfit led 174 – 111.  GRRG finished the bout with 14 unanswered points to push the final totals to 174 Outfit, 125 Grand Raggidy.

The Syndicate were led by Lola Blow’s 80 points and Silkk Assassin’s 44 points. The Outfit also got double digit totals from Queefer Sutherland, The Joan Ranger, Matza Ballbreaker and Bloody Elle.  Grand Raggidy was led by Lucy Morals’ 45 points. Shotgun Shell added 36 and Miz D. Molisher scored 34.

Next for the Outfit is the first bout of the North Central Regional Playoffs against Brew City (9-NC) at 10 am on Friday September 14th.
